From the moment we started shooting, you could feel how meaningful this season is. That in-between space of finishing one chapter while standing on the edge of the next. Sierra carried that so effortlessly through her entire session. I've known Sierra for nearly her entire life, and watching her step into this next chapter is bittersweet, but listening to her talk about her excitement for her future plans makes it all worth it.
We started the session of strong with her cap and gown. The pop of red against the golden backdrop? Unreal. It added just the right amount of boldness and celebration without losing that editorial, clean feel. One of my favorite moments was when she held out her tassel, proudly showing of the "26". It felt like a quiet but powerful statement: I made it here.
Then we shifted into a natural setting around the backside of the high school. Surrounded by soft greenery and that dreamy evening light filtering through the trees. The simplicity of her black dress paired with her natural confidence made for a such a timeless look. No distractions, just Sierra. She was composed, grounded, and completely herself. There are the kinds of images that never go out of style.
And that's what I love most about sessions like this. They're not just about marking an accomplishment, they're about capturing who you are in this exact moment. The confidence, the growth, the anticipation... It all shows up in ways you don't even have to try to create.
